My name is Amanda Bostik and I am the mother of an amazing little girl named Gemma who was born with a rare, neuromuscular disorder with a tracheostomy, ventilator and wheelchair. Gemma spent almost a year in hospital so we looked forward to taking her to our local playgrounds only to be disappointed to discover the lack of accessibility at our parks.
In honour of Gemma and others with mobility challenges in our community I made it my personal mission to advocate to the city for an accessible playground so that we could create a playground for all. After almost two years I am overjoyed that a playground with accessible elements is being designed this Fall 2014. There are limited funds available so I am personally trying to raise funds this Summer to purchase accessible playground equipment. I need your help to ensure the success of this project! Thank you for your support!

I need your help to make a difference in the lives of children with mobility equipment in our community!  Please help me raise funds to be able to purchase a piece of accessible play equipment for this local playground being designed in the Fall.

I have set up a non-profit community account, donations can be made at any TD Canada Trust Bank location under the title 'Richmond Accessible Playground Fund'.  Paypal donations and e-mail banking transfers can be made to cabostik@hotmail.com

Larger organizational donations can be made through the City of Richmond, please contact me for details.

Thank you for your support!  Together we can make this possible!
